How the score works
How we score. The Storefront Score (0 to 100) is Segments' own measure of how easy a store is to find online. It combines six areas: Business Profile, Reviews, Search rank, AI answers, Website, and Inventory. Each is weighted by our judgment of what matters to someone shopping for running shoes nearby. Search rank and AI answers count most.
What we measure.
- Business Profile and Reviews: your public Google Business Profile listing.
- Search rank: where you appear on the map for common running searches, from points around each store and from about 8 miles away.
- AI answers: how often AI models name you when asked where to buy running shoes in your area. We ask through each provider's API with web search on.
- Website: how fast your homepage loads on a phone, and whether your site gives search engines and AI tools clear store details.
- Inventory: whether Google shows your store when someone nearby searches for shoes you carry.
Limits. This is a sample taken on one day. The same test can return a different result minutes later. Search volumes are monthly estimates, rounded, and they count searches, not people. AI answers from an API can differ from what an app shows. The report measures visibility. It does not measure the quality of any store, lost customers, or revenue, and we never see any store's sales data. If something looks wrong, email help@segmentsmarketing.com and we will check it again.
